Hi Scott. I agree. My hats off to Josh's team for putting out and supporting a powerful set of features. The embedded signup forms and hotspot buttons are two of the most powerful features my clients seem to be using. (Certainly for me, too.)

I agree on your point re: using YT videos. In fact, other than it being a nice to have feature (which is why I even mentioned it at all in my series), I really can't see too many advantages to using a YT video as the source vs. an AWS-hosted/EVP video. Outside of the obvious traffic benefit, that is.

But functionally and qualitatively speaking, I like the AWS-hosted/EVP video much better.

Mel, great series on Easy Video Player. I use EVP with clients that DON'T want all the YouTube ads (which can be their competitors!) to appear. Using button overlays to direct them to signup pages and product pages for ordering is real key benefit. Keep up the great work.

[...] I thought this could help me hit two birds with one stone by posting it as today’s feature article because it should help answer some of the email I’ve gotten on questions about what the back end of the player looks like. And, more specifically, how is it that I’m able to display call-to-action buttons and opt-in forms — like the one in a post earlier this week.
